BOA launched the world’s most powerful tidal turbine
The 680-tonne Orbital O2 tidal turbine was loaded onboard the semisubmersible heavy deck cargo barge Boabarge 35 (124m x 31.5m x 7.93m) in the port of Dundee, Scotland and floated off on river Tay on the morning of April 22nd.
After the float-off, the turbine was towed to the Orkney, where it will be anchored and produce electricity to power 2,000 homes.
